Thirsty: Which musician/band would you love to sit down and have a cup of coffee with?
Logan: Kurt Cobain, duh.
What’s your desert-island album?
The Lucksmiths' "Happy Secret." Wimpy, but true.
How do you discover new music?
I learn about new music from KALX almost exclusively, just from pawing through the new releases. I'm often more apt to get excited about old music that's new to me, and more likely to research older bands on the internet, by which I mean read Wikipedia. I also have some friends who make me mix tapes.
What do you love, besides music?
Riding my bicycle, knitting, vegetables, and hanging out with my friends.
What was the last great book you read?
I’m in the middle of an excellent book called My Traitor’s Heart by Rian Malan. It’s written by an Afrikaner journalist living in South Africa during the tail end of apartheid.
What band/musician do you think is about to break out?
There's a great hardcore band in the Bay Area called Drug Warz. They’re totally on the cusp.
What charity or social cause (non-political) are you passionate about?
Sustainable agriculture, especially in the form of urban gardening.
