Ian MacKaye. I met him briefly once and got out a quick thank you for always playing all ages shows. To have an actual conversation would be amazing.

Replacements – Let It Be. It’s perfect in that imperfect way the Replacements were famous for.
How do you discover new music?
Mostly digging through KVRX’s CD library and writing reviews for new things that come in. I also go to South by Southwest every year, read Pitchfork, listen to other people’s shows…
What do you love, besides music?
Architecture, walking really fast, opinionated monologues on federalism, Dr. Pepper
What was the last great book you read?
Tom Wolfe – The Bonfire of the Vanities. Still hysterical 20 years later.
What band/musician do you think is about to break out?
Black Joe Lewis, a great young soul singer from Austin with a mean horn section backing him up.
What charity or social cause (non-political) are you passionate about?
I like Inside Books, which sends free books to prisoners in Texas.
